Wendesday 23rd July 2008
Summer Holidays are finally with us so not sure how many update will go out for this period.
But hope whether you are on your hols in Bridlington, Brighton, Bangkok (not calling it by its Thai name as will run out of screen) or Baltimore you have a great time.
We have just been in to visit Keran and she is okay bit fed up with being away from the boys and at how slow things go at times. Also had a rather long letter from another Government body (a new one to us in this case having a go too - it leaves only the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Food Fights and Fish (or whatever they are called) to have go. Once we get those two we shout Bingo and win the right to have …oh…sorry…nearly thought we had rights!
Anyway life moves on and the clock is ticking till we get a chance to set the record straight. It just feels like being in a coma, its not really normal life, just watching it all go by.
Today on the news I saw those in the Horn of Africa, yet again struggling to survive. So it kind of makes me think ‘best shut up’! Whatever pain we all have there are some with pain un-imaginable to us all. You also see another Tyrant see justice catch up with them hiding in the community as a new age therapist. Mind you his ‘charms’ looked awfully bullet shaped to me. Maybe he isn’t that new aged.
Yet on the same day, the sad news also came over of another troop dying for his country, throwing himself onto a grenade to save his colleagues, the selfless bravery of another. Bring back National service so they can all experience the sense of being part of team with role models, sense of belonging and teamwork. Baden-Powell worried about these things over 100 years ago, its nothing new we just forget the importance of the simple things. Those that don’t want the Military National Service give them other ‘civil’ roles (Kids should also be getting Conflict Resolution Training, First Aid and Personal Safety). But that’s another story…..
The date for the court of appeal crawls closer, but hopefully things will be different this time around. Other cases keep cropping up in the papers, the trial of Linda Wise a nanny allegedly killed a child in her care that before her time with him had shown signs of illness, it does seriously concern me that the CPS Experts seem unwillingly EVER to take on that maybe there is something and rather than go round witch hunting the should look at all the cases.
We need to stop the same experts doing this for a living, surely it can’t just be me that things that if the same people keep getting used and saying the same stuff (well nearly always) and getting paid lots to say it something may well stink. Not forgetting they seem to forget they are meant to be independent and not there for the Police and CPS? To say I am disappointed is an understatement but times are changing.
Nice to hear on the Matthew Wright Show earlier the subject briefly turned to these sort of cases again. There are a lot of cases out there and maybe we will see a change; a couple more in the US and Canada have been found innocent. Nice to hear the names of Meadows and Southall are still remembered for their ‘actions’ really must keep an eye on who joins them in the next few months.
So think of those that are fighting whether on a battle front or in the villages around West London and the Home Counties against unwanted developments or caring for loved ones who are fighting illness. To all those that have supported us and are still standing by, thank you enjoy the holidays and time with your families.
