Police State or Police in a State?

Britain’s Police the most expensive in the world apparently? Hmmm

Maybe they could stop paying for experts?

Just a thought…

Seriously though, so many countries including Japan don’t spend enough on the Old Bill. The Japansese Police are very old school in their ways. So in some ways we lead, but then its rip off Britain, and even the old Bill pay more than they should for stuff. If the forces all bought the same cars, uniforms, etc they could safe a few bob.  Some times they may well need different stuff. But if the Government stopped tinkering and bringing out more laws, and targets then maybe they could get on with it?!

But they should however consider electing your local sheriff (and others) then we the public, can get rid of people not up to the job whether they run the highways or sort out the highway robbers.

I also see in the news that there may be movement in procurement for the Military. Things are getting through finally, but are troops are still being let down on their return. Too many face a hard time, maybe the bankers with the huge bonuses and pensions from the RBS (Right Banking Scandal) could adopt a squaddie?

Finally what happened to flying the Flag? Gordon said years ago we should reclaim the flag…still lots of places without it flying last time I drove through London (or any City in the UK).

p.s.

Final thought on merging police forces, one super one would be a problem, too easy to turn into a Police State. Although they would be too busy swamped in paperwork. But we could use a system where we had a National element, that deals with National/International issues and then the County/Metropolitan cops for the equally important local issues.

Said before that the Transport Police and MOD Police could take on more  issues and protect the infra structure, roads, rail, power supply, etc. It would need a loan from the banks to sort out though and they’ll start lending as soon as the petrol companies drop their prices to match the price of oil…….sometime never then…

p.p.s

I am apparently middle aged, so I can do this sort of moaning stuff now, its the law.
