Missing

Friday, May 1st, 2009

So many events being marked recently a 100 days of Obama, 1 year of Boris Johnson, nearly 18 months of a wrongful imprisonment.

And much more poignant is the second anniversary of little Maddie’s disappearance.

On many a sunny weekend in London, we (the Police)would be tasked with looking for lost children who had become separated from their parents. We would often spend hours looking, even into the deepest darkest places, well off the beaten track and often come up with no trace, it was extremely frustrating as you never got to offer resolution to the family of indeed yourself.

Thankfully there were success stories to, more than the missing ones. But there was also a few where the child had gone home or been found by the parents and they didn’t inform the police. Which meant we could often be searching for hours and ten find out we had been wasting valuable time. So if your ever on that situation and I pray your not, please let the authorities know asap.

The last abduction I remember dealing with was on a neighbouring patch and the call came out child abducted and last seen heading north, running parallel to our patch. There was no takers over the radio for the call at all (everyone committed to other calls - the silence was deafening), so a colleague and myself took it. Eventually we were joined by one other officer, it is scary to think that 3 officers had to search a fair chunk of North West London and thankfully the child was located safe and well a few days later. It turned out to be a bit of a family affair so it allowed investigators to track the child and abductor down fairly quickly.

It is bad enough to have to cope with that in your own country, but whilst away and on holiday when peoples guards are generally lower (so many tourists in London - anywhere get targeted as they are ‘on holiday’ and not paying attention and standing out), there are language barriers, cultural issues etc etc It is a true nightmare.

I have had to stop doing my voluntary Search & Rescue work with everything going on. Maybe its time things like that were on a more formal footing? Maybe I will go back to it one day soon, to do that little bit to help out in cases like that. Anyway…

Spare a thought for little Maddie and her family and the thousands of other missing from home and their families.

Pablo Picasso once said ‘Seek and you will find’.

Keep seeking.

Media Update

Can any Media enquiries please go through the following

Punteha Yazdanian

INS News Agency

Features Desk

features@insnews.co.uk

The Carers team decided to go with a local 24 hr news company purely as the team have many other commitments and to free us from answering the phone, e-mails etc. Iain & Keran will be busy with trying to get the family back on track, and doing all the jobs that had been put off decorating, cleaning, gardening, dusting, painting, washing up  etc etc etc.

Keran is not (on legal advice) allowed to give any interviews on her release, she has been instructed to wait until after the appeal. If this changes we will of course let you know.

When is SBS NOT SBS? And daytrips to Truro.

Friday, May 1st, 2009

Hi,

Well whats in a name, not a lot, they seem to be doing what they did with Munchausens, it’s time for  PR make over, Munchausends became associated with Miscarriages of justice, Roy Meadows and Southall. So lets rename it and they did.

Well if it worked once lets go with SBS to, lets come up with AHT, Abusive Head Trauma. Now as Professor Stephenson pointed out in Panorama, he didn’t like the term SBS as it kind of implies what went on to anyone who becomes involved, or should I say WHAT THEY THINK went on.

It could stop people looking for any other info as it says what (they think) went on, on the tin (SBS). But of course they don’t really know, its guesswork, unless of course they saw it with their own eyes and carried out hundreds, thousands of tests to show that x, y, and z will always be SBS or should I say AHT.

Well I’m still not an expert (thankfully) but surely AHT does the same thing? Your saying there had to be an element of abuse…then head trauma. Which I guess may mean though if Retinal elements are being reduced in their importance as they may appear in more autopsy’s (most of which has no worries at all about involving shaking) then you could get away with only 2 elements maybe and not the beloved triad…or is it me again? Keep the gravy train rolling?

Well the gravy train has rolled into beautiful Truro this week with the likes of Nat Cary and no doubt Stoodley and Risdon et al in attendance.

Looking at local reports from the trial so far it would seem that its Shaking or Shaking AND Impact, so yet again they can’t really be sure which it was. So here I go again, if they can’t be sure and prove it beyond reasonable doubt…then what the hell is it doing in a court in the first place?

They have gone for the lets take the old dog (of  a theory) out and give it a run…again  tactic.

I hope the jury aren’t easily impressed by white coats and letters after peoples names. Look for real evidence or doubts for pete’s sake!

I worry she (Anne Marie Rooney) may not get a fair trial, if she has done it then fairs fair, but there is a lot of mention about her background, in other cases its usually tricks like they enjoyed a drink (inferring one too many), thankfully for our case, Keran doesn’t really drink (been married to a boring teetotaller too long - mind you I might start drinking by the time we get through this - ooh look a flying pig), so there was no mud to throw at her - so use loads of experts instead to convince the 12 jurors (sorry 10).

Justice wears a blindfold.

Fiat Justicia.
