Protect Pinewoods - not profits

Hi,

Its good to see that more signs and green ribbons (yellow has become so last season) standing up to the destruction of the Green Belt.

The roads round here will just come to a screeching halt each day, children will have no where to go to school (and if they did there wouldn’t be school fields as so many have been built on - no wonder there’s an obesity problem), not enough Doctors, Hospitals, Sewage & Water issues, Noise, you name it.

Well to those that think its not worth fighting for, if you don’t fight you won’t win.

there are truly times even when the worst things are thrown at you, that you have to show spirit, strength and determination. I have learnt these lessons so much over the last 5 or so years and we have been blessed with so much support from you all. That this is a cause that is worth fighting for.

I wouldn’t buy a home on this development, for one who wants to buy a home on a Landfill? Two have people saying which entrance to your house can you use, or maybe where you park your car - can’t have a British Car in a New York Street surely?

Three what if you wanted union Jack curtains in the Paris street scene, they will have written in the small print so many things that you can’t do it will be like having to ask permission to open your window.

Meanwhile the Deer will have to walk through parts of Amsterdam’s red-light area…not something you would want for an old Deer…or am I mixing my Dears/Deers - WHATEVER!

Steam-rollering Green land, when there is so much land that could be better used even in Pinewood Studios, why not redevelop what you have?

Why not build your street scenes in Pinewood, have offices and workshops inside the houses? Underneath the streets have studios and sound stages?

Oooh I know why you don’t want to do that it won’t bring in huge profits…

If any of you behind this idea go with the NIMBY argument I will submit plans for a 5 storey block of flats overlooking your gardens (by the way they won’t overlook mine before you scream NIMBY at me). Then see how NIMBY you are.

You have been sussed, move on, it didn’t work at Shepperton, stop trying to make a QUICK BUCK and make Uncle Buck 2 (although sadly without John Candy). Stick to making films, you have made some of the best as far as I am concerned. Spend more time getting the Government to help the Film and TV sector, that would help you on the world stage.
