OFSTED v Thames Valley Police (and common sense)

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

Hi,

Just seen this little Chestnut about Thames Valley Police meeting up with OFSTED (not in relation to our case you understand), read on and I’ll be back in a mo…

Ofsted issues childminding threat

Ofsted issues childminding threat

Childcare providers must be registered with Ofsted

Parents who regularly look after their friends’ children must register as childminders, Ofsted said as two policewomen were warned off caring for each other’s youngsters.

The regulator stressed that people who baby-sit for one another’s children for more than two hours at a time or for more than 14 days per year should be registered.

This applies where parents receive a “reward” for the childcare - which can include money or simply free baby-sitting in return.

According to the Mail on Sunday, Detective Constable Leanne Shepherd from Milton Keynes was warned by Ofsted to end a reciprocal arrangement with her friend DC Lucy Jarrett.

She told the newspaper: “When the Ofsted inspector turned up, the first thing she said was ‘I have had a report that you’re running an illegal childminding business’.

“I straightaway thought she must be mistaken, so invited her into my home to explain we were police officers and best friends helping each other out.

“But she told me I was breaking the law and must end the arrangement with Lucy immediately. I was stunned, completely devastated. I spent the whole day crying because I couldn’t see how I could continue working.”

The Thames Valley officer is believed to have been reported by a neighbour, the newspaper said.

A petition to scrap the rules governing reciprocal child care on the Number 10 website has gathered more than 2,000 signatures.

An Ofsted spokesman said: “Ofsted applies the regulations for the registration of childcare as found in the 2006 Childcare Act. We are currently discussing with the DCSF (Department for Children, Schools and Families) the interpretation of the word ‘reward’ in the legislation to establish if we might be able to make a change.”

…right I am back again…now what makes this interesting is I wonder how many OFSTED staff mat have done the same thing? I do hope there isn’t two laws in force again!

Its ridiculous beyond belief, the Nanny State is running over us with its articulated zimmer frame. Maybe the Mothers and Fathers should be made to pay up when they take over form each other. It could be the latest stealth tax, Gordon needs more cash from us and this could make him a mint.

I wonder how we got by without the state, or maybe Neanderthal Man (and woman) got by. Maybe the State used to make them attend good parenting courses and how to keep your garden safe from Dinosaurs before they were allowed to take a child home from the Maternity cave…

OFSTED or OFFTHEIRHEADS?

Oooh well not long to go before hopefully we can help put the ‘Hells Zimmer Frames’ back on track and look for the path to righteousness rather than the path into ‘right into the s…’.

Good articles exposing Mr Risdon ‘the Countries only Paediatric Forensic Pathologist’ on the Keran Henderson is innocent website. I always wonder how you become the only Paediatric Pathologist in the country….maybe we had HUGE cutbacks. that left just one, or maybe there was just no such post and someone has created it? I hope there will be more cuts to come, just one…

Anyway must dash, got a dog to walk…and I must fill in the risk assessment, get all the appropriate safety gear together and the like!

Just when you think the world has gone mad and made Gordon Brown statesmen of the year - well anything is possible now!

You turn the TV on and see young men blown to bits by an enemy too scared to come out and fight. Who resort to filling their IED’s with all sorts of junk to make the wounds worse.

The attitude and strength of our young troops, really is some of the most inspiring TV you can see. I do hope that once we get our little problem out of the way, we can get on with helping others again.

God bless them and all that care for them, they deserve the trophies though…….

Signs of change - the rubbishing of the world is flat!

Last year, Discover magazine published a provocative article laying out much of this new research. Notably, the magazine found several specialists who have since changed their minds after testifying for the prosecution in multiple SBS cases. (At a post-conviction hearing for Edmunds, all of her defense experts said that when the case was tried in 1995, they would have testified for the prosecution.) One of those specialists is Ronald Uscinski, a student of Ayub Ommaya, the scientist whose research on monkeys in the late 1960s is thought to be the origin of the SBS diagnosis. When Uscinski went back and reexamined the study, he found no support for the way Ommaya’s research is currently being being used in the courtroom.”When I put all of this together, I said, my God, this is a sham,” Uscinski told Discover. “Somebody made a mistake right at the very beginning, and look at what’s come out of it.”

Hundreds if not thousands of people have potentially been wronged, its good to see that people are waking up to smell the coffee.

I just wonder what the likes of Risdon, Richards, Stoodley etc etc etc will now do? Could they be set to lose their cash cow. Or will they too wake up and smell the coffee too?

Lets see…not long to go.

Hi,

This is a slightly older post - I forgot to stick up…well can’t remember everything…

Just caught the news earlier and over in the East of town a Gentleman who is 101 years young (and looked bloody good on it) has just been awarded by his neighbours a local hero award. Why?

Well even at that fine old age he still helps look after his daughter who was born with Downs Syndrome, he went against the advice of the ‘experts’ who wanted her locked away in a home  and has enjoyed his daughters company, even though his wife sadly passed away many years previously.

Hats off to you and what do the experts know anyway…
